Derrington Way Ahead and several other groups in the village, such as the Brownies, the Best Kept Village Group, the Millennium Green Group and St Matthew’s Church, have been very proud to have received several awards for their local environmental work – recognising the breadth, depth, impact and inclusiveness of the initiatives in the village. 2009 National Green Apple Award Winner, received at the House of Commons (Link)

2009 Second place in the Stafford Borough Council (SBC) Green Awards, Community and Well-being Category, plus a Commended for St Matthew’s Church, for the work to restore the roof.

2010 Stafford Borough Council Green Awards Winner of the Community and Well-being Category

2010-2011 Runner up, national (National Energy Action) NEA and British Gas Footprint Award

2011 Regional Winner of the Future Friendly Awards, held at the London Wetland Centre, Barnes, London, with £1000 prize!
